Author: House of Eden
Regional food concepts are becoming increasingly important in Germany. In many cities, movements have emerged that focus on local food. In doing so, they promote short transport routes., the preservation of regional Biodiversity and supporting regional producers. After all, local products usually come from small farms, nurseries or manufacturers in the local area. Without direct sales, these could hardly survive. The price war in supermarkets is often so fierce that the large farms with conventional cultivation and animal husbandry methods have a clear competitive advantage. It is therefore worth supporting small businesses that focus on animal welfare and organic farming.
